About John

Johnny found an outlet for much of his passion in our local community. He was steadfast in spiritual development. He was active in the FFA – and actually served in leadership positions from the local to area level. He even competed and accomplished a successful recognition at the state level by becoming a Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar (supported by Ford Motor Company and Texas Ford Dealers). He excelled academically. He was slated to be Valedictorian of his 2017 high school class. He was an active member of the Student Council, Beta Club, National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 4-H, and Future Business Leaders of America. He was involved because relationships were important to him.

Johnny knew that faith, passion and works are dead without action and results. Through his Ford Leadership Scholar community service project, he individually designed, raised funds for, and met with city officials to facilitate the construction of a public lake dock – a project that cost $25,000. His project is enjoyed by the Jacksboro community today.

Johnny had an incredible heart. He helped plan “Operation Restoration” an event to clean up houses of those who were unable to do so. He tutored high school students free of charge.

Johnny had goals. Plans to improve himself. Plans for a brighter future. Shortly after his death, we learned he had been accepted to Texas A&M University.

My son was humble, kind and full of love. He was a servant leader who lived his personal brand. He was an example – he lived to serve others. He was faith in action.
